Non-urgent appointments
During the appointment, the doctor evaluates your symptoms and your general health and prepares a treatment plan. These appointments are meant for the treatment of chronic illnesses and other persistent complaints, and matters relating to medical certificates and statements.
Nurse’s appointments are meant for assessing if treatment is needed and how urgently, carrying out medical procedures, treating infectious diseases, prescribing short-term sickness leave, and providing treatment guidance and health counselling.
During a nurse’s appointment, the nurse and patient can prepare an extensive treatment plan for a chronic illness. Nurse’s appointments are available at all health and social services centres of the wellbeing services county.

The chat service is open Mon-Fri from 8:00 to 18:00, and Sat-Sun and mid-week holidays from 9:00 to 17:00.
You can use the chat service in matters relating to health services. You can chat with a nurse and, if needed, you will be referred to a chat appointment with a doctor.
Family centre guidance and counselling
The service is open Mon-Fri from 9:00 to 15:00.
The customer assistants of the family centre provide guidance and counselling in matters relating to children/adolescents, families, and parenthood. The customer assistants can help you find solutions to your problem or direct you to the services you need.
Maternity clinics and child health clinics
The service is open Mon-Fri from 9:00 to 15:00.
The clinics’ public health nurses can help you with matters relating to e.g. pregnancy and children’s regular health checks.
Family planning, birth control and sexual counselling
The service is open Mon-Fri from 9:00 to 15:00.
Do you have questions about birth control or sexuality? Are you in need of family planning services? The public health nurses will be happy to assist you.
